Guided tours in English, dance, performances, music, shows, or lectures: Up to Eleven is an opportunity to spend a unique evening at the museum.
Every Wednesday evening the Mudam Café is open until 11pm to offer its visitors a real night-time experience. As the name suggests, this afterwork event echoes the movie This Is Spinal Tap in which the main character, member of a heavy metal band, repeats the term incessantly to explain that his amp goes up to 11 instead of 10. This trope from popular culture made its entry into the Oxford English Dictionary in 2002 and signifies “to the extreme”. It is in this quirky spirit that Mudam invites visitors to experience something new, by offering small plates, as well as a cultural programme that mixes disciplines and genres.
Music in the Mudam Café (other than live performances) comes from the cutting-edge selection by Voulez-vous danser, a music production agency created by Arnaud Dewitte in January 2009.
